Misc #23 - Work lights and quick connect for my NM-E08 (w. subtitles)
When editing the latest episode of me expanding my driveway I realized that I hadn't shown you the modifications you see on the NM-E08 mini excavator so I decided that I should edit and release the footage of that.
Not everything went as expected, quite the opposite, but that's life for you - you live and you learn. I'm mostly happy with the modifications, and especially the quick connect works great, but I might revisit the electrical work in a later video.
As always, many thanks for watching - I know there's a lot of content to choose from. If you want to help me grow the channel then please leave a comment, share the video, give it a like, and hopefully subscribe if you're so inclined.

Time to tackle the hard stuff, literally, as I start breaking up the rock/stone/boulder that's in the way of the new parking space. The hammer does a decent job at the start but after a while I need to resort to chemicals. Not sure what type of stone this is but it puts up a fight. This video is a bit longer as I included more real-time footage, let me know if that's something you prefer or if ...

First off I want to thank everyone who has subscribed, it really means a lot and I'm very grateful for your support. Here's to another thousand and hopefully even more. This is a shorter episode where I move a lot of material to get a rough grade of the expansion but since this is the last thing I did in 2021 I felt that it was a good place to end the video on. This is another project that's been long in the making. I started it in earnest in 2021 but it continued through 2022 into this year, and I still have some minor things to do before it's "finished." This is pretty much exactly when I got my new machines and it's obvious that I'm not used to the mini excavator, although there are moments later on when it almost seems as if I know how to operate ...

This is the final part of me fixing up my outdoor area, at least until I get around to fixing the area next to it. Mostly me moving material but also fixing the final part of the fence (a gate is planned but it'll come at a later date). As always, much thanks for watching my videos, it is truly appreciated. We're on to part 6 of this epic (and by epic I mean irrelevant) saga of me fixing my outdoor area. This is recorded in 2022 - a year after the previous episodes - and I primarily get the area ready so that I can move in all my "resources." You'll get a look at my then new machine, a mini skidsteer loader that I've had great use of. There'll be a video on that machine soon (and by soon I mean no...

Construction of the fence continues in this episode, with just a tiny bit left for the next episode. This is also the last episode from 2021, the next one will be from 2022. Using my tiny excavator isn't a must, but it does make things a whole lot easier for sure. As always, a plethora of thanks for watching, appreciated as usual. A shorter video but it felt natural to just include the building of the compost holders. I'll return to questionable landscaping and mediocre machine operations in the next video. As a reminder, this footage is from 2021 and besides more footage from 2021 and also have footage from 2022. On top of that I have some minor stuff to finish this year so I guess this is a multi-year documentary serie...

Work on my outdoor area continues. Check our part 1 for a bit more context: ua-cam.com/video/pd_8KS3tQaY/v-deo.html My little mini (micro) excavator is a real work horse and often punches above its weight class (check out my one year review of the machine: ua-cam.com/video/gFAkF2i16hw/v-deo.html). Some of the controls are still jerky and unpredictable, and although it gets a bit easier to contr...

I have an section of my garden that I use as an outdoor working area, with a workbench and storage. The first part of this is roughly 8 years old, if not more, so it's high time to redo that part. This is from back in 2021 when I first got my new machines and even though I've operated excavators previously, that was 6 or 7 years ago so I need to re-learn a lot, on a machine that isn't exactly f...

I've been meaning to import an excavator from China for quite some time and earlier this year I finally got around to it. I opted for a really small machine on purpose as I want it to be nimble and able to get to areas a bigger machine can't. It is really tiny though! It's not as much a mini excavator as it is a micro digger. This is just a first quick look after unboxing the machine and I will...

I prefer diesel as it's more fuel efficient and the engine is simpler (no carburetor). It also has a bit more torque and is usually easier to start. It's louder though, with a harsher noise than petrol.

The runout on this drill has nothing to do with the chuck. It is caused by an incorrectly sized output shaft upper bearing in the gearbox. I stripped and replaced mine after having it just one week. The needle roller earring that Bosch use is too loose on the shaft. I replaced it with 2 ball bearing races, and eliminated all of the free play. Took me about 90 minutes to do, it’s a bit fiddly, just take plenty of photos so you don’t forget how to reassemble!

This press has worked like a charm for my projects ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxajoEbapTfqWaadnqb04h6U576yxXp-FE . I didn't even secure it to my table top, mainly due to the fact that I was using a 15 lbs drill vise. It's not flimsy at all as to what others have claimed it to be. Make sure the locking nuts and levers are secured and there won't be any issues with light pressure and patience. I was able to drill through aluminum, plastic, and steel (steel took a while) with no problems at all. Yeah it took a little longer than a regular drill press, but I don't have the space OR the money for one.The instruction manual was worthless, but luckily assembling the press was intuitive. However, the manual would be good for ordering replacement parts if needed. There is a nice breakdown of the parts that are included in the kit. Before ordering, make sure it is compatible with your unit, it is clearly stated what models the press is compatible with. This was an excellent purchase for $40!!

Sigh. You swing the boom and raise one side of the machine to get tracks off the ground to adjust tracks. It's the same with all excavators, big or small. You've got waaaay too much grease everywhere - wipe it off or it will attract dust/dirt and ruin your pins. Tolerances aren't great, but dangle drills are notorious for 'walking'. You simply have to learn the foibles of each machine to compensate. Paint on any muffler will burn off. As for Imperial/Metric, that's a bit strange. Think most of your problem was buying from a complete no-name manufacturer to save a bit of money. Even in China, there's a quality difference. Usually, the newest/smallest entrants build the crappiest machines and sell at the absolute lowest prices to attract cheapskate/clueless customers.
